Mango variety : Konkan Ruchi
1. This variety was has been developed by crossing Neelum and Alphonso at Regional Fruit Research Station, Vengurle, DBSKKV, Dapoli, Maharashtra and released during the year 1999.
2. It was recommended for cultivation in all mango growing states of India with special reference to Konkan region of Maharashtra.
3. Trees are medium in size and moderately vigorous, having medium trunk and thick shoot.
4. This is a regular bearing variety with large sized fruits and is best suited for processing industries, especially for pickle making.
5. Unripe fruits are having TSS 8 Degree Brix and high acidity of 3.20 %, which is suitable for pickle making.
6. Trees are heavy yielder. Fruits are large (430gm), with thich and high pulp recovery (78 %).
7. It bears approximately 252-351 fruits per tree.
8. Pickle quality is excellent in terms of colour, flavour, texture and shelf life.
